Spring 2021 came with many challenges that guided us to step back and identify the needs of the teachers and our community. Every challenge is a step to growth. After collecting all the feedback we further researched to obtain a new evidence-based curriculum that would accommodate the needs of our teachers, students, and parents.
As a result, we partnered with PATH Inc. Positive Potential, which is our new evidence-based and is a curriculum with the purpose of highlighting personal development. Together with the curriculum, we will be focusing on goal setting, character building, and the 8 dimensions of wellness.
The new middle school curriculum, Positive Potential, is pending approval from the School Health Advisory Council, SHAC. Once approved, Positive Potential will be implemented with middle school students by our trained TA Outreach Facilitators during the 2021Fall semester.
This change will address both the social and emotional needs of students and will help them reconnect with themselves as they return to campus this fall. We look forward to implementing our new curriculum, and we foresee that the feedback and participation of the community members will reflect a positive outcome.
