NOTICE OF LCA

FuturGen

FuturGen is an evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention program that focuses on addressing the barriers that hinder El Paso County adolescents from obtaining optimal health.

The program delivers programming in three settings in El Paso County including school districts, community, and healthcare settings, with a specific focus on teen pregnancy prevention and the reduction of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.

Our goal is to advance equity in adolescent health by targeting resources to specifically support the replication of medically accurate and age-appropriate evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs.

about futurgen

FuturGen was created with the intention of improving the overall health of adolescents and reducing teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the El Paso County area, primarily in the Socorro Independent School District (SISD), as well as in neighboring ISDs, including, Canutillo ISD, San Elizario ISD, and Clint ISD. The intention is to demonstrate the need for increased evidence-based programs, particularly serving high-risk groups and communities.

resources for parents and guardians

It may appear as an assumption that when parents talk to their child about sex and birth control it means you are giving permission to do it. Parents of those who talk to their teens about pregnancy, sex and birth control choose to wait to become sexually active, and those teens most likely will use a form of birth control if and when they start.
