Kudos to Dr. Cynthia Garza!

Big news! Under the incredible leadership of Dr. Cynthia Garza, Project Vida’s Psychiatry Residency Program snagged a $960,000 grant from HRSA to train more mental health professionals. This funding, kicked off on November 1, 2024, and will keep the program thriving through 2029, supporting resident salaries and building a brighter future for mental health care. Dr. Garza puts it best: “This grant reflects HRSA’s commitment to tackling the mental health provider shortage, especially in underserved areas.” Way to go, Dr. Garza—we’re lucky to have you leading the charge!

San Elizario ISD, Project Vida partner up to help students be 'positive agents of change'

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Students in the San Elizario School District are getting a significant funding boost that will increase resources aimed at anti-bullying, sexual health and emotionally holistic education.

San Elizario ISD is launching FutureGen in partnership with community advocacy group, Project Vida, thanks to a $1.9 million grant the organization won in 2023.

The initiative will foster "evidence-based" programs at San Elizario's middle and high schools, which Project Vida said will give students the tools and resources needed to be "positive agents of change" in the community, through comprehensive health education and supportive school environments.
